Busi, Adolfo 1891 - 1977 Milan, Italy -
Adolfo Busi was an Italian artist particularly active in the fields of publicity graphics, book illustration, calendars, posters and postcards. He is considered a precursor to the 'Pin-Up' artists of today.
During the 1920's, he was known for his posters, especially those advertising the beach resorts of Italy. He was very good at creating gorgeous women, playful and passionate, all making a case for vacationing in Rimini. Decades after this fun vintage poster was created, the coastal city is still a favorite Italian tourist destination.
In his postcard work, he was known for his designs of sexy women. Today, his postcards are becoming rare as collectors are quick to add them to their collections.
